If you haven’t made the trip to the history-rich town of Deadwood in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, you’re missing out. If you’re a street machine enthusiast, this is especially true. Each summer the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau opens their town to thousands of car enthusiasts as Kool Deadwood Nites, a show unlike any other in both locale and the variety of things to do, takes over the legendary frontier town. As vacation spots go, Deadwood is most certainly near the top of the list, and when packed with cool cars, it’s even better.
Show participants attend from all over the upper Midwest, bringing their families for an enjoyable weekend full of street machines, live music, and picturesque scenery. Street Thunder’s involvement in the event as sponsors has been a great experience, as we’ve been able to not only watch the show grow, but we’ve also had the opportunity to meet many NSMC Members, who love the bustling Black Hills event.
On the following pages are some of our favorite highlights from the 2007 Kool Deadwood Nites show. If you haven’t attended the show previously, we encourage you to make it to the next one. With activities like parades, poker runs, and a classic car auction to occupy the days, and free, live concerts on Main Street at night, we’re confident NSMC Members of all kinds will find Kool Deadwood Nites an enjoyable show they’ll look forward to each year.
